Gaur Chowk Underpass Nears Completion: Big Traffic Relief Expected for Greater Noida West
5 min read By INAROCK INFRA

A 700-metre underpass at one of Greater Noida West’s worst bottlenecks is 70–76% complete. Here is what it changes for commuters — and for property values.
Greater Noida West has grown faster than the road network serving it. Nowhere is that gap more visible than at Gaur Chowk, where nearly one lakh vehicles pass through the junction every day. The 700-metre underpass now under construction is the single most consequential fix planned for the corridor.
What Is Being Built
The underpass connects Gaur City, Noida Extension, Crossing Republik and Surajpur. It was originally designed as a six-lane corridor, but the scope was widened to eight lanes to absorb projected traffic growth rather than merely today’s volumes — a meaningful decision for an area still adding housing stock.
Construction began in 2024 at an estimated cost of between ₹82 crore and ₹92 crore. Progress currently sits at roughly 70–76%, with excavation, retaining walls, ramps and finishing work still outstanding. The project has absorbed delays from pollution restrictions, utility relocation and traffic diversion requirements.
Expected Timeline
The underpass is expected to open around 15 August 2026. Authorities project that close to 30,000 vehicles may use it daily in the initial phase.
Nearly one lakh vehicles pass through this junction every day. Removing the detours and U-turns is not a convenience upgrade — it is a structural fix.
Why It Matters for Commuters
Today the junction forces lengthy detours and U-turns, which translate directly into longer travel times and higher fuel costs. Eliminating that manoeuvre shortens the daily commute to Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad for a very large resident base.
The Real Estate Read
Connectivity improvements of this kind tend to influence residential demand with a lag. Shorter, more predictable commutes make Greater Noida West materially more attractive to working professionals who want affordable housing without an unmanageable travel burden. That widened catchment can support demand and price appreciation in the surrounding residential pockets.
As always, infrastructure is one input among several. Developer credibility, legal standing and the specific micro-location still determine whether an individual property is a sound decision. Our advisory team assesses all of these together rather than treating a single announcement as a buy signal.
